USAALLTHEWAY does not want to sound boorish, but what the hell was with Khorkina waving her flag all over the gymnasium after our beloved Carly Patterson had just won the Gold? Of course, winning the Silver is a wonderful accomplishment, worthy of a great deal of respect. But for God’s sake girl, have some bloody decency!
Maybe, just maybe, she was really excited at getting silver? And Americans giving others lessons on flag-waving and patriotism? I think I've heard everything now...

Is this the girl that they said was in "magazines of Ill repute?"

I thought it was cool that she was excited for the silver - it showed a lot of sportsmanship because she had been really focused on the gold for 8 years.
All the interviews with her just say she likes being a diva and loves attention - so I'm sure she was just being herself.
I do hope that someone gives her a cheeseburger after the competition though

Hey...I'm all for her celebrating her silver...but the grandstanding with the flag was a bit much. As far as patriotism...we do have a lot to learn. Carly was the first American athlete (that I've seen) to actually sing the national anthem....nice...song sheets anyone?

I think that winning a Silver Medal in the Olympic Games enables this girl to celebrate in whatever way she feels like it... I hope that you have posted this article in jest!
-good day

Well, after a decade of dominating women's gynmastics, I guess she has the right to wave her flag around! And for the cribbing Americans on the forum, I think you should concentrate on your 'all-round champion', or should that be 'all-round loser', Paul Hamm. At least Khorkina was undisputed queen in her time. We'll see how long Patterson lasts...but that's another story.
