In a heartbreaking, failed attempt to advance to the Track and Field 1500-meter Final, Alan Webb was pushed and kicked further and further away from his dreams of earning an Olympic Medal. With blood trickling down his leg, Webb stated, "It was like a football game out there," referring to the brute physical contact covertly taking place within the pack of runners making up the field of Friday's prelim.
USAALLTHEWAY would like to congratulate Webb on a great year, and would like to remind him that he has numerous Olympic Championships to look forward to. We have no doubt that Webb will be in the mix in 2008.
As Bernard Lagat said after the race, “You know you have to be strong to do all that. Of course, experience matters when it comes to something like that.”
